Motivation

Remember Java started out as a tutorial site with small Java exercises where users could return for suggested solutions and examples. Over time this concept has changed slightly, and the majority of users now come to seek out solutions to Java code problems. This is reflected in how the more recent articles take the focus away from Java exercises and instead provide example code and explanations.

Aim

The overall aim of the site is to provide small, brief examples of commonly used Java API classes and other Java related tools with some explanations and full executing example code. Furthermore, each article should explore a particular problem, but stay focused on a few Java API packages. Although few of the examples classes will be real world applications, or even usable modules, part of the aim is to explore some real world problem in each article.

Despite this limited scope, several of the articles will lead to further thoughts, extended implementations or highlight existing third party resources. Where this is the case, the article should be updated to link to the relevant material.
